Picture of ULTRA

"Most people treasure the enrichment that personal mobility brings to their lives...
- most are increasingly concerned about the problems caused by everyone else's car ownership."
(Foresight Panel Report on Transport)

ULTRA brings a new approach to the problem of urban transport. It has arisen from a re-appraisal of fundamental transport requirements. It is unlikely that modifications of transport solutions from the last century, i.e. cars and train/tram systems, can provide answers to the next. The ULTRA, (Urban Light Transport) system can best be described as an automatically controlled personal taxi system running on its own guideway with access to vehicles at frequent stations located around the city.
